Might not post for a while. The sun is out and the birds are singing. Even Wal-Mart was pleasant this morning. I’m working on a short story for writer’s group next week, and a comic I hope to send to Backwards City for #4.

Next month is Small Press Month.

Last year was actually a pretty good year for short fiction: the Story Prize has recommendations. (See if you can match the recommendations with the advisory board.)

I like Maureen McHugh’s book a lot (and I liked her reading at Mac’s way back too) and her blog posts are very long and make me feel stalkerish.

Sometimes it takes me a long while to catch on. For me, the greatest thing about Flickr is the searching capability. Up until now, I’ve been using Google image search to pull up reference photos for drawing…

So much for that. Check out Retrievr. Using a simple sketchpad interface, you can draw the shapes/colors you want to search for in Flickr, and as you add to your drawing, photos from Flickr will appear…

A great idea would be to put your comics on Flickr, right? Wrong. Flickr discriminates between photography and drawing. Bummer.
