A diary doodle from Parts Unknown, S5E2:
Iggy Pop: You seem like a curious person.
Anthony Bourdain: It’s my only virtue.
Iggy Pop: Curious is a good thing to be. It seems to pay some unexpected dividends.
A friend of mine once asked Twitter what qualities they most wanted to encourage in their children. The overwhelming favorites were curiosity and kindness.
Curiosity, I think, is something kids come with built-in. They come here wanting to know everything. Your job is to help them keep the fire lit. Not snuff it out.
Kindness, on the other hand, I think kindness is something they have to learn. And like most things, it is learned best by example.
Both, I think, are use-it-or-lose-it practices.
