…when you have a new Radiohead album to listen to. I figured out that I’ve been listening to this band for something like ten years. Saw them once at Blossom in Ohio, and once in Florence, Italy. Every album is a great event to look forward to. They’ve never let me down.
Okay…I’ve listened all the way through: It’s good. Minimal, groovy, and spaced-out. I like it. What do y’all think?
BTW, Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood did the soundtrack for the newest PT ANDERSON movie, which looks absolutely amazing:
I thought this was well-said:
“By offering the album in the way they did, Radiohead gave us a bit of a gift: universal excitement. This effectively brought back the joy of album release day — millions of people hearing the record for the first time at once — and combined it with the our modern ability to instantly gush to all of those fellow fans online. It’s the best of all worlds.”
Still have to download this myself. I effectively don’t have internet for the first part of the day.
But, hey! I saw them at Blossom, too – years back. Maybe THE SAME SHOW!!! (cue ominous music)
was it August 2001 with the Beta Band and Kid Koala?
Yeah, that’s the one. I remember Kid Koala played a clip from a “Magic Star Traveler” show (a truly awful kids program I had just become acquainted with shortly before).
You were there too, huh? Cool coincidence…
