Kansas City: talked to some really smart businesswomen in the morning, spent a beautiful afternoon eating lamb ribs at Jack Stack and walking to the Nelson-Atkins Museum to look at art (my favorite things: the Carvaggio, some Japanese woodblock prints, and this daguerreotype exhibit), then gave a talk for the Middle of the Map Fest. I find Kansas City and the folks there really charming — I’ve never been asked so many times during a book signing if I was having a good time or not!
St. Louis: it was my first time in St. Louis, so I was really bummed I didn’t get to spend more time there. Did a bunch of morning TV, hung out with my friends Dave, Bill, and Dave at the Royale, met one of my favorite cartoonists, Dan Zettwoch, and gave a talk to a nice crowd at the Ethical Society of St. Louis.
Tour is now winding down. Next week I’m in Houston, then the week after I’m in Milwaukee and Minneapolis.
