“Show the world what you really do. Be open, visual and honest.”
—Justin McMurray
The folks at Somewhere and I are on the same mission: get people to show their work.
Think of Somewhere as the anti-LinkedIn: instead of listing your resume or your portfolio or your achievements and all that other boring stuff, you start answering questions about your work by posting photos and talking about the day-to-day nuts and bolts of what it is you actually do. In practice, it’s sort of a cross between Pinterest and Instagram, but with a focus on work. Really neat and fun to use—after I started posting my “sparks,” it became addictive.
It made sense that we team up and do something together. So they’ve given me a VIP invitation link to share with y’all: click here to sign up.
After you sign up, check out the #showyourwork tag page. They’ll be giving away free copies of my book to people who post with the #showyourwork hashtag.
Oh, they also interviewed me for their blog:
What’s next for you?
I wish I knew for sure! I’m getting a bit tired of talking about making art, and I want to spend more time actually making art and. I converted the garage behind my house into my studio a few months ago, so I’m looking forward to the book release and book tour madness dying down so I can have time to just go back to making art again. We’ll see.
