Day one: Franklin BBQ the perfect hangover fix, with my good friends. Went to see Battle Decks and a Ukulele Panel.

During the Uke panel, the convention center fire alarm went off, so I headed to the Mohawk to chill with my friends, Chris and Bill

Day two: went to see a panel my friend Bryan Poyse was on, and wound up meeting one of my cartoonist heroes, James Kochalka. James drew in my sketchbook
After that, I ran into my online friend, Liz, and watched Ze Frank

Then I went to a panel on publishing

But I got totally distracted b/c my friend Adam tweeted that he saw my book in the SXSW bookstore! So I raced over, to see my book stacked next to Laura Dern.

Day three: I did some mentor sessions on blogging, but, true to form, ended up also drawing the captive models.
Hung out with James in the Shade for a while
Then, we went to see Jeffrey Tambor's acting workshop. It! Was! Amazing! The two actors were Chris Doubek and Heather kafka from Bryan's movie, LOVERS OF HATE

Day four: Last-minute prep on our panel w/ Sunni, Mike and Dave @ Sunni's house...Then we saw LOVERS OF HATE at the Paramount.
Stood in line with my friend Morgan and then my friend Janet intro-ed the movie
Soon, it was time to do our panel. We hung out in the green room, altering our name cards. The panel was a terrific success. We ran out of the 500 booklets we had made

The place was packed full of awesome, enthusiastic folks
Afterwards, it was time to do my first NEWSPAPER BLACKOUT signing

Everything went great until this dude showed up with his herd of fanboys: they swarmed the table. I said hello, but the dude blew me off. Later, one of the awesome booksellers, she said, you might not have sold as many books, but at least you don't smell like him!
Day Five: nasty cold rain...in the afternoon I interviewed Ian and Alex from ART OF THE TITLE. Really nice guys.
Had a beer at Ironworks with my friend Hugh, then later, hugh, john, marcie, and meg and i had dinner then went over to Creative Fidelity and Gave a talk on money and art
Day six: worked all day, then went to Austinist party at Mohawk. Drew Whit Denim!
Day 7: took the whole day off sx. Relief. Day 8: saw two great music panels

Then I went to Klub Krucial for the Gorilla Vs. Bear party. Here I am drawing
Day 9: drew the largehearted boy brunch at Bookpeople.
Saw a singer named Sarah Jarosz in the waterloo parking lot
Ate brunch w/ our friends Curt and Kara, then randomly saw a taping at the klru studios of LOST IN THE TREES.
THE END
See my drawings from last year.
