Steal Like An Artist: The Book

IN THE EVENT (OF A MURDER)

the detective uses crime scene tape as a book mark / that way he is ready / in the event of a murder

This one was a casualty of the final round of editing for the book. I went on a marathon session this weekend, cutting and adding, and I think I finally came up with a satisfying shape for the thing. Excited for y’all to see it. Should be a pre-order button one of these days…

Hey Austin, can’t wait to see it! Going through a mountain of artwork and paring it down to a specific page count is surprisingly hard. Thanks for sharing the outtakes!

    Thanks, Marc!

I really love editing, but a lot of time has to pass so you have enough distance to see the thing for what it really is. It’s been five months since I made the original sequence, and now I’ve been surprised by how good parts are, and yet, also by how easy it is to toss some things out. Somehow, “killing your darlings” doesn’t feel as bad when you can post them to your blog :-)

When you say “pre-order” my mouse finger gets this twitchy feeling. The wait!

Don’t I know it, man. I’m SO CLOSE to having it done and shipped off to the designers…SO CLOSE!!
